Curly Hair Reviews: Lush Shampoo and Conditioner Bars
Sustainability has been a big topic of conversation recently and I have been trying to do my part; I have multiple reusable water bottles, and coffee cups, I try to reduce my plastic where I can with a bamboo toothbrush and toothpaste bites. Most recently I've added shampoo and conditioner bars to my routine.

I feel like I've seen these bars forever, but I was scared to try them. Why? Because curly hair needs a lot and I wasn't sure if these bars would meet its needs.
Even before shifting to shampoo and conditioner bars I struggled to find hair care products that fit my needs even with a growing trend of natural hair products finding an all in one products was virtually impossible. While one product might have coconut oil and shea butter, another would have peppermint and castor oil, or another with Argan oil.
I wasn't kidding when I said my hair needed a lot.
But even with plastic products I wasn't finding I needed, so why let that stop me from using no plastic.
That is how I found myself in Lush over winter break. Asking for help in store made the experience so much easier for me; the assistant looked at me, looked at my hair, and was able to give me a recommendation (yes, I had looked online before hand but the help was still nice).

I ended up taking home Jason and the Argan Oil shampoo bar and the Big conditioner bar.
Jason and the Argan Oil, as obviously named, has Argan oil which is big yes! for my hair and smells great with its additional blend of rose and lemon oil. It suds up really easily and leaves my hair feeling super clean.
The Big conditioner, has coconut oil as well as jojoba that gives my hair a great shine. At first I was a little worried because it's advertised as giving hair volume something I have never struggled with before in my life, but I haven't felt like my hair has gotten any bigger than normal thankfully. This one is a little harder to get to sud up, but overall doesn't cause me any trouble.
I'm really happy so far with how my hair is handling my change in products, and hopefully as the trend grows there'll be even better ones for curly hair like mine.
