My Sustainability Journey So Far

Happy Earth Day!

I know we can't go out and enjoy all that mother earth has to offer right now, but once this is all over I think we will all appreciate it even more. As I've written about in the past; sustainability is an issue I've been focusing on in my life. I'm not where I want to be on my sustainability journey, but I know I have made progress no matter how small.

Phone Case

Metal Straw and Reusable BagsI don't end up using my straw all that much because where I live has banned plastic straws so most places have paper ones on hand. Plus I don't have a lot of drinks that require straws, but I have it in my bag if I need it. I have tons of reusable bags for when I grocery shop and when I don't have them I usually just carry whatever I've bought to my car or it fits in my purse.

Reusable Coffee Mug

I took forever researching the travel mug I was going to buy. I first looked into ceramic ones, ones made from recycled material, and glass ones. I ended up if my Ano mug and it has been the best money I have spent. I use this mug every day when I'm at school and make sure I bring it with me whenever I'm leaving the house.

Bar Shampoo and Conditioner

I just wrote a whole post about what I think about the bar shampoo and conditioners I have, but to quickly recap they're great. I'm especially excited to take them on trips since they take up almost no space and smell so good.

Myro Deodorant

I had tried a zero-plastic deodorant before from Lush, but it was such a hassle. Now I have Myro and it's great. While it's not plastic-free, it is low-waste because the container is reusable.

If you're interested in trying Myro you can use my discount link to get $5 off.

Bite Toothpaste Bits and Toothbrush

I've found the easiest place to make sustainable changes is in the bathroom like with these toothpaste bits. They work just like regular toothpaste, but no plastic tube that gets tossed when it's done. And like Myro the glass jar is refillable and the refills come in a cellulose bag that decomposes completely.

And that's where I'm at. It's not much but it's a start and even tiny changes can make a huge difference.
